| OVERVIEW |
General information: This dataset is generated at Norwegian Meteorological Instiute (met.no) in the frame of the MERSEA project. It gives a daily analysis of the foundation sea surface temperature in ultra high resolution (0.02 degrees) covering the Atlantic High Latitudes.
Processing information: The input data for the analysis is L2P SST products from infra red and passive micro wave data, as delivered by the Medspiration project (http://www.medspiration.org). The analysis has been produced by optimal interpolation (OI) techniques, using a dedicated software produced by CLS (http://www.cls.fr).
Description of observation methods/instruments: Input SST observations from AATSR, AVHRR, SEVIRI and AMSR are used.
Quality / Accuracy / Calibration information:Note: This product is still under development and has not yet been fully validated.
Suitability, Expected type of users / uses: For assimilation in atmospheric and ocean numerical prediction models and monitoring of the Atlantic High Latitude seas.
