The is two way to register a product in the Mersea
catalog :
The manager of your TEP
should make you know which product you should register and will help
you to define the metadata. He is in charge of sending your metadata to
the Mersea Information management desk.
PRODUCT DEFINITION
A product is a set of digital data
processed in series (e.g. on a temporal basis), from a specific
platform/sensor or a compilation/quality assesment process or a
numerical model.
ISO19115 XML
FILE
This way of registration is
dedicated to data mananger who are used to deal with XML data
description.
ISO19115 is a metadata standard for the description of geolocalised
products. The XML implementation of the standard which has been choosen
for Mersea product description has already been used in Marine metadata
project : Seasearch.
For the Mersea information system, the XML ISO19115 is the standard
interface for product metadata input/output.
Each registered product is available in its ISO19115 description, you
can get it through an URL composed as follow :
http://www.mersea.eu.org/html/information/catalog/products/<product_short_name>.xml
That way you can get examples of ISO19115 product description. It is
usefull to help you understand the ISO19115 format. You can also get
your own product description, make your updates in it and send it
back to Mersea information management desk.

Before, sending your XML product description to the catalogue
administrator, you
should check the XML
is compliant with the standard thanks to the XML schema :
The most friendly way to
produce MERSEA compliant ISO19115 XML description file is to use our
online forms.
These web forms will help you to update or create product description
and will allow you to save your new product description as an XML
ISO19115 MERSEA complant file.
Before being fully integrated to the MERSEA catalogue, you will have to
send it to the catalogue administrator who will validate the content of
your description.
